Ellen M Foss
The urge to write had started long before her first book. With poems and miscellaneous writings that sprung forth all through her young life. In her formative years with her family, they crisscrossed many of the southern states before moving north to Chicago, then on to Southern California. There she met and married her husband. After several years and two children later, they moved to Colorado, and ultimately wound up in Phoenix Arizona. It is not surprising that you will find these experiences and memories intertwined throughout her writings.
Her first real attempt at writing was a short story named Kathleen/Catherine. To show her dedication to the written word the story was typed out on a small portable Smith Corona typewriter. No computer screen, no spell check, no correction key, save or print key. The effort was submitted to several magazines of the day, with a response coming back from Red Book, indicating they liked her writing, but at the time they were looking more towards women’s rights stories, and would be interested in an article on that.
As the years continued to roll by, she authored full length manuscripts, to include Kathleen/Catherine, One for the Money, CeeCee Shades of Black and Murder by Proxy. After sending out numerous query letters, a major New York publisher, was excited about her work, mentored and guided her through the publishing process. Then 9/11 happened and her writing went on hold.
Today Ellen lives in Arizona with her Husband. And once again has breathed new life into those manuscripts she started so many years ago. In April of 2020, her Book Murder by Proxy was published on Amazon.com, both in E Book and Paperback. CeeCee Shades of Black soon followed in July of 2020, also in both E Book and Paperback. Kicking off 2021 One for the Money was published on Amazon in January, again in both E Book and Paperback.
Kathleen/Catherine, Ellen’s latest book, was published in 2022 on Amazon and is available in both E Book and Paper Back. Ellen’s fifth book True Obsessions will be available soon. All Ellen’s books are available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Walmart.
